Privacy Policy
The RespiSentinel App allows eligible users to participate in research projects. As such, the privacy policy follows that of the research project.
If you participate in a research project through RespiSentinel, the following policy will apply. Please refer to the Research Information and Consent form in RespiSentinel for more details.
All information collected will remain confidential within the limits of the law. Your identity will be protected by replacing your email and other identifier with a research code. This link will be kept on a separate database file on the RespiSentinel server, managed by bld.ai and hosted by Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Canada. Bld.ai adheres to state-of-the-art cyber security best practices, including the use of automated multi-level security controls to ensure that there are no vulnerabilities in the management of the data.
Other research teams may use the data collected. All research projects will first need to be approved by an appropriate Research Ethics Board. The project would then require the authorization of the bank's access committee. No nominative information will be sent to the researcher. A data transfer agreement will be required when data will be shared with researchers from other institutions.
General results of this research project may be published on RespiSentinel or published/presented at scientific conferences. However, your name and other personal information will not be used. The data will be retained for as long as the Director of the Bank can ensure its proper management, including compliance with administrative, ethical and scientific requirements.
In order to ensure your protection and quality control of the research project, the following organizations could consult your research file:
- The sponsors of this project
- The research ethics committees of the CHU Sainte-Justine or a person mandated by one of them. These people and organisms adhere to a confidentiality policy.
